You’ve helped the Christmas Store bring joy to Jeannette families since 2017. Parents and caregivers are able to shop for three new gifts per child living with them.  This includes one more expensive gift and two gifts from our regular tables. We sell each gift for $1 so parents can take ownership of choosing and purchasing Christmas gifts for their children. The gifts matter, but what happens around them matters too. Parents get to choose something special for their children, families feel supported, and we have the chance to build relationships that continue long after Christmas.

As our reach grows, so does the amount of preparation it takes to make the store happen. We are asking you to consider making a donation earlier this year so we have time to organize donations, see which ages still need gifts, and purchase what is missing.

Our goal is to raise $12,000 by November 1 through monetary and Amazon Wish List donations, though you can continue purchasing gifts from our Amazon Wish List through November 30. Think Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals! 

We also offer free hats, scarves, gloves, blankets, and books. Volunteers are available to wrap gifts, and everyone gets to enjoy delicious cookies and hot chocolate.

What began by serving 20 families and 47 children has grown tremendously. Last year, we served 71 families and 216 children and provided 648 gifts. The median household income of the families who participated was $18,000. This program supports Jeannette children and families who need it most. . 

With the rising costs of caring for a family, we anticipate even more families will visit the Christmas Store this year. Your donation by November 1 will create Christmas joy for dozens of local families. You can get a glimpse of last year’s Christmas Store here:

As always, we cannot do this without YOU! There are three main ways you and others can help:

Collect and Donate Needed Items

Your churches, businesses, organizations, and families can hold a collection or donate items directly. We need:

• New gifts for children and teens valued at $10 or more

• Gifts valued at $30 or more

• New blankets, hats, scarves, and gloves

• New children’s and teen books

• Wrapping paper, tape, gift tags, gift bags, and tissue paper

• Batteries

There is no maximum value for donated gifts! We can also arrange to pick up larger donations from local churches, businesses, and organizations.

Make a Financial Donation or Shop Online

Financial donations help us purchase gifts that are highly requested, for ages that receive fewer donations, and fill any remaining gaps before the store opens

Volunteers are key to making the day special for families and it’s fun! We need volunteers to:

• Set up the store

• Greet families

• Wrap gifts

• Provide cookies

• Help with cleanup
